Firm Administrator

Karen Tavernier
Originally from Rhode Island, Karen moved to Florida in 1976. She received her education at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton and achieved her Paralegal Certification in 1983. Her first Law Office Administrator position was with the firm of Siegel & Siegel in the Ft. Lauderdale area. She subsequently went to work for Ellis Rubin, a nationally known, high profile attorney in Miami, where she stayed until relocating to Sarasota and her present Administrator position with Lancaster & Eure, P. A. in 1984. Karen has been a member of both the Local and the National Associations of Legal Administrators since 1999 and has been assisting injured workers for over 25 years. Her hobbies include boating, fishing in the Everglades, reading anything and everything, and renovating/restoring historic homes.

Legal Assistants

Stacey N. Carter
Stacey, originally from Mobile, Alabama, attended and received her education from Troy State University in Troy, Alabama. She relocated to Sarasota, FL in 1999 and has over 16 years of personal injury experience in motor vehicle, motorcycle, wrongful death, and slip and fall accidents. Stacey is a Florida Registered Paralegal/Certified Legal Assistant. She is an active member of the Suncoast Chapter Paralegal Association of Florida. Stacey is well educated and knowledgeable in the Florida No-Fault PIP benefits to better assist accident victims in obtaining their maximum medical coverage benefits. She is an avid college football fan (Roll Tide) and actively involved with the Sarasota Redskins Youth Football and Sarasota Boys & Girls Club.

Dina M. De Lorenzo
Dina comes to the office of Lancaster & Eure from Cincinnati, Ohio. She has ten years of experience with Ohio workers’ compensation. She attended the University of Cincinnati and is currently a resident of Manatee County. Dina has been working for Lancaster & Eure since September of 2006. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading and traveling. Dina has been an active member of Women of the Moose since 2007.

Denisse Florian-Gutierrez
Denisse was born and raised in Lima, Peru. She moved to Sarasota, Florida in 2000. She graduated from State College of Florida in May 2012 with an Associate of Arts degree in Psychology and Sign Language. Denisse is continuing her education at the University of South Florida. Prior to joining Lancaster & Eure, Denisse worked as a Vocational Evaluator for three years. She assisted clients with mental and/or physical problems at the Department of Rehabilitation of Florida and helped them obtain vocational training or employment, taking into consideration their restrictions based on their disabilities. Denisse brings her wealth of knowledge and experience to the firm’s Social Security Disability practice. Her hobbies include: playing volleyball at the beach, kayaking and paddle boarding.

Deborah R. Higel
Deborah is a certified legal assistant/paralegal and has lived in the Venice, Florida, area since 1975. She graduated from Manatee Junior College in December 1990, with an Associate of Science degree in Legal Assisting. Deborah joined Lancaster & Eure in May 1991. In December 1991, she successfully completed the Certified Legal Assistant’s examination through the National Association of Legal Assistants. In addition, she regularly attends legal seminars and seminars specializing in workers’ compensation to maintain her CLA status.

Sadah Ridley-Ali
Sadah, originally from Sterling, Virginia, recently relocated to Sarasota after living in New York City for thirteen years, and working as a paralegal, and as an actor. Sadah served in the U.S. Army as an Air Traffic and Flight Operations Specialist, was an airborne paratrooper, and graduated from the University of Maryland in Seoul, Korea. Sadah brings his fresh and valued perspective of personal injury law, workers’ compensation, and maritime law based on extensive experience with several New York law firms (most notably Holland & Knight, LLP) to Lancaster & Eure’s seasoned team. Sadah lives with his wife of fifteen years, Letitia, in Sarasota. In his spare time, Sadah enjoys traveling, cooking, and visiting as many beaches as possible.

Tonya Nelson

Hailing from the Iron Range of northern Minnesota, Tonya relocated to Port Charlotte with her family in 2001. Prior to joining Lancaster & Eure, P.A., she focused her career in the hospitality industry before transitioning into the legal field. Tonya currently resides in Sarasota where she is actively involved with Children First, the Boys & Girls Club, and enjoys volunteering at her children’s elementary school. In her free time, Tonya and her family enjoy baking, going to the beach and trips to Florida’s legendary amusement parks

Kimberly Ayala

Born in Sarasota and raised on the Suncoast, Kim is a true homegrown “Floridian” in every sense of the word. Kim previously worked in the tax and insurance industries providing her with first-hand knowledge that she brings into the firm’s Social Security Disability practice. Kim is not afraid to show she is still a kid at heart, especially when it comes to expressing her love for all things Disney.

Spanish Translator

Diana Rico
Diana Rico is a claims assistant/translator at Lancaster & Eure and serves as a liaison between the attorneys and paralegals and the Spanish speaking clients. Prior to joining Lancaster & Eure, Diana worked 8 years for Goldman Sachs on Wall Street in client services. In 1991, Diana relocated to Sarasota with her husband to raise her daughters and focus on her family. Diana works closely with the Spanish speaking injured workers and assists in all aspects of their workers’ compensation and personal injury claims.
